What to Wear and Pack

Bangladesh November Clothes

Day:
It is hot during the daytime, especially around the noon, so light and breathable summer clothes made of cotton, such as short sleeves, shorts, T-shirts, and wide-leg pants are advised.

 Night:
As the weather is cooler in the evening, relatively thicker clothes, such as thin coats and jackets made of linen, are necessary for you to keep warm. You can also pack long-sleeved T-shirts, shirts, jeans, or other warmer clothes according to your personal preference.

 Accessories:
You’d better take some cold medicine, as the temperature difference between day and night is big and it’s easy to catch a cold. The sun always shines bright, and UV intensity is strong, so sun-protective gears such as parasols, sunglasses, and sunscreen are necessary.

November Festival & Travel Guide – Where to Go & Things to Do

Tourism Rate:

1. Nobanno Utshob

Nobanno Utshob is usually held in November or December every year to celebrate the harvest of new rice. In 2024, it will be held in mid-November. Traditionally, people will eat pitha, a kind of Bangladeshi rice cake made with rice flour, coconut, jaggery, and milk. In addition, many other specialties made from new rice will be sold at the local bazaars, such as rice pudding made of milk and sugar and sweets including sondesh and naru. In addition to snacks, some bazaars also organize performances given by folk artists where people can enjoy singing, dancing, and watching the play.

Coming to Dhaka, you should not miss Ramna Park, one of the most popular parks in the city. Known as the Green Heaven of Dhaka, it is a beautiful place with lush green lawns, dense trees, and gorgeous flower beds. You can take a stroll in the park or have a picnic by the lake where you can have a very relaxing time. Apart from its beautiful surroundings, Ramna Park hosts concerts and art exhibitions occasionally, and traditional festivals like Pohela Falgun are often organized here. If you are planning a trip to Dhaka, you can keep an eye on the appropriate event timings to experience the traditional culture and art of Bengal.

If you want to experience the festival deeply, go to Dhaka, where not only fairs of different sizes but also performances and competitions are organized at the Fine Arts Faculty of Dhaka University or other places, as well as exhibitions of some of Bangladesh's primitive labor tools.

2. St. Martin Island

November is the best time to enjoy the sunshine on St. Martin Island as the sea regains its calm after the monsoon leaves, and the weather is mostly sunny. The beach on the west side of the island is the most popular place among tourists, as there is a beach market that usually sells local snacks and handicrafts. People usually gather with their families and friends in the afternoon to taste local delicacies and relax. There are also many tourists swimming, snorkeling, and fishing here. For more exciting activities, kayaking, canoeing, and sailing boats are also available. The island is small, so you can also hike along the trails to explore its natural beauty.

Bangladesh Seaside

3. Kuakata Sea Beach

Kuakata is also known as Daughter of the Sea by the locals. Its vast sea beach attracts many tourists. You can see sunrise and sunset views as it is located in the southernmost tip of Bangladesh. In the morning, when it's less crowded, you can head to Kuakata's Zhaubon, Red Crab Island, to see hordes of red crabs crawling out of the sand, which you may never see before. At noon, you can swim, sunbathe, ride a beach scooter, or go to Shutki Palli, where you can not only watch people catching and drying fish but also buy cheap dried fish here. At dusk, you can head to the estuary of three rivers next to the Kuakata lemon forest and take a perfect picture of the sunset.

Apart from the things mentioned above, you can also visit the Buddhist temples, explore the fishing villages, go bird watching in the nearby wetlands, and climb up the lighthouse to see the scenery of Kuakata.
