What to Wear

Bangladesh December Clothes
It's warm during the day, so light, breathable cotton shirts, short sleeves, and T-shirts are suitable. The weather is cooler at night, so you'd better wear long sleeves or a thin jacket. You can also wear short sleeves with a light windbreaker. A slightly thicker maxi dress is also a good choice for ladies. It is advisable to bring cold medicine as you may get the cold due to the big difference between day and night temperatures. Also, pack a pair of comfortable hiking or trekking shoes, as you may need to walk a lot during the trip.

December Travel Guide – Where to Go & Tips

Tourism Rate:

1. Victory Day

Victory Day in Bangladesh is celebrated on 16th December 2024 to commemorate the victory in the war of independence. Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh, holds the most colorful celebrations. Bangladeshi flags are hung throughout the streets, and roads and buildings are decorated beautifully. Military Parade is one of the highlights of Victory Day and is held at Dhaka's National Parade ground every year. Students and sociocultural organizations also have parades where people dressed in traditional costumes perform traditional dances and songs in the procession. In schools and public places, artists sing, dance, and perform dramas that tell Victory Day's stories. Prayers are held in mosques, temples, and churches to remember the martyrs and pray for the country. Families reunite on this day to prepare and enjoy traditional food and snacks. On this day, you can also see the illuminated Dhaka in the evening, which is spectacular.

2. Cox's Bazar Sea Beach

December is the best time to visit the beaches of Bangladesh. The sun shines bright with low rainfall, and the UV is moderately intense, making it ideal for sunbathing. The temperature is pleasant, and you won't feel scorching on the unshaded beaches.

Cox's Bazar Sea Beach is popular among tourists as the longest beach in the world. You can see turquoise waters, miles of golden sand, rare shells, and green valleys and hills here. In addition to sunbathing, there is a wide range of beach activities, such as surfing, diving, horse riding, and parasailing.

3. Jaflong

Jaflong is called the Daughter of Nature by the locals. Backed by steep mountains, its natural landscape is breathtaking. A century-old iron bridge hangs high over the river, connecting the hills on either side. There are clear rivers, steep mountains, dense forests, and vast tea plantations. You can watch how people work to quarry stones, swim, go rafting, and collect different shapes of stones along the river.

Lalakhal, a part of Sari River, is near Jaflong. Scheduling them on the same day is a wise decision. The water shows different colors in different parts of Lalakhal, which makes it enchanting. You can take a boat trip to see the forests, tea gardens, and evergreen hills that dot the banks of the river.

Cox's Bazar, the city where the beach is located, is the tourism capital of Bangladesh. You can visit Aggameda Khyang, a Buddhist temple, to learn about Buddhist culture and explore ancient Buddhist relics. You can also go to Himchari National Park to dip in the pools under Himchari Waterfall, climb up to the top of the hill to get a panoramic view of the park from the viewpoint, or spend a relaxing afternoon at the picnic area and campsite.
