The rain brings suitable humidity to Bangladesh, around 50%-60%, so the air is not stuffy. What to Wear 

If you plan to go to Bangladesh in March, you can bring short sleeves and light pants made of linen. Men can also wear sleeveless shirts. As most people in Bangladesh follow Islam, to respect the local customs, ladies try not to wear shorts or skirts but can wear long dresses. In addition, girls can also wear Sharee, the local traditional dress. It is also recommended that you bring comfortable walking shoes such as sports shoes or hiking shoes. Since the UV rays are intense, it is also best to bring sun protection gear.

The climate in Bangladesh starts getting hot from March onwards, so you can schedule your outdoor activities in the morning or afternoon when the temperature is cool and stay indoors when it is scorching in the middle of the day. 1. Holi, 2025: the Festival of Colors

Bengali usually celebrate Holi in the twelfth month of the Hindu calendar. In 2024, the festival was celebrated on March 13. Holi is also known as the "Festival of Colors". The purpose is to celebrate the beginning of the spring with an explosion of color. Bengalis believe that fire can burn evil spirits, so on the eve of Holi, people light bonfires in a ritual called Holika Dahan, singing and dancing around the bonfires to gain peace. The next day, the "Festival of Colors" begins. You can join the locals in a paint fight. Everyone throws paint powder or water at each other and dances to the beat of wooden drums. Later, you can also enjoy traditional Bengali food such as guijiya, a nut-filled pancake, and a milkshake-like drink made of cannabis.

On this day, major Hindu temples celebrate Puja. You can visit the Adinath Temple at Cox's Bazar to enjoy authentic Hindu prayers and songs. Situated on the top of a small hill, it is rich in religious heritage and boasts picturesque natural scenery.

Once in Cox's Bazar, Cox's Bazar Sea Beach is a must-visit destination close to Adinath Temple. You can enjoy sunbathing, surfing, and swimming here, while the sunny weather and warm water in March are suitable. It is important to note that Cox's Bazar Sea Beach does not allow overnight stays, so make sure you schedule your time well. Apart from these two attractions, there are many other places worth visiting in Cox's Bazar, such as Inani Sea Beach, Chera Dwip, Sonadia Island, Himchari National Park.

2. Maheshkhali Upazila, Cox’s Bazar

In the early morning, while the temperature is still not very high, you can head to Maheshkhali Island. It is about 10 minutes’ speedboat ride from Cox’s Bazar. The Island has many hills, so it is famous for being the only hilly island in Bangladesh. You must walk over a long bridge through the mangrove forests to reach the island's mainland. There, you can see the low hills and patches of mangrove forests, as well as the natural landscape of the hilly areas. During the hot middle of the day, you can visit the Buddhist temples on the island. When it becomes cooler, the local salt flats there is a good place to see and experience the daily life of the local people. 

3. Naogaon

Traveling to Naogaon in March is also a good option. You can visit Paharpur Buddhist Monastery, one of Bengal's most famous Buddhist temples, during the cool morning. Many Hindu statues have been discovered here, making it one of Asia's most important archaeological sites. Afterward, you can head to the nearby Paharpur Museum, which preserves various ancient artifacts. If you want to visit more buildings with Bengali characteristics, then Dighapatia Palace, Mridha Mosque Complex, and Govinda Temple are recommended. Several other popular tourist attractions include Choto Sona Mosque, Naogaon Central Eidgah, and the Museum of Rural Culture. Naogaon also has a watery and grassy place, Dibar Dighi, where the Divine Victory Pillar is one of the most beautiful places for the locals.
