What to Wear and Pack

Bangladesh June Clothes

Clothes: You can wear short sleeves, polo shirts or other light and quick-dry summer clothes, loose pajamas or pants on the bottom.

Shoes: Breathable and walking-suitable shoes, such as hiking and sports shoes, are recommended. You can also pack a pair of sandals, so you don’t have to worry about the shoes getting wet due to the rain.

Accessories: You’d better bring rain gear such as a raincoat and umbrella. Or you can choose to buy locally. But it may not be easy to find a store in a remote natural attraction sometimes. Although it rains a lot in June, the intensity of UV is strong when it’s sunny, so sun-protective gears are also necessary.

Note: Girls try not to wear camisole, shorts, and skirts, as most of the Bengalis are Muslims.

June Travel Guide – Where to Go & Tips

Tourism Rate:

1. Mongo Festival, 2024

Known as the land of mangoes, Bangladesh has a bumper mango harvest in June every year. The major mango growing areas of Rajshahi, Chapa Nawabganj, Rangpur, and Dinajpur usually organize a Mango Festival in the third week of June every year, the same time in 2024 and 2025, to celebrate the harvest of mangoes. During this time, tourists can visit the mango orchards and taste fresh mangoes and various snacks made from them. Since Rajshahi is also known for its silk production, it always holds a silk and mango festival together, during which one can enjoy fresh mangoes and buy silk souvenirs and clothes.

2. Rangpur

Rangpur receives less rainfall in June than other regions, so if you plan to visit Bangladesh this month, it can be considered as one of the destinations. Rangpur is rich in historical and cultural heritages. For example, Tajhat Palace, which preserves Rangpur's historical artifacts and handicrafts, including terracotta figurines from the 10th to 11th centuries, exquisite Sanskrit manuscripts, and black stone Hindu carvings, is a preferred destination for history buffs. There is also the Rangpur Town Hall, a clock tower where you can capture a stunning view of the city and surrounding villages. Here, you can visit the Rangpur Town Hall Museum, which displays artifacts related to the building's past, such as old uniforms worn by police officers, and admire Islamic architecture at the Rangpur Town Hall Mosque. You can also visit Singra National Park, a magical forest where you can enjoy the mesmerizing nature of Rangpur. Walking through the forest trails, you can see termite mounds taller than a man, and sometimes, you can see giant lizards running through the bushes.

Bangladesh River

3. Mahasthangarh

Mahasthangarh belongs to the Bogra District, located in the center of the Rajshahi Division. Receiving relatively less rainfall in June, it can also be an optional destination for tourists. The archaeological ruins of Mahasthangarh are the most popular tourist attractions, including a palace, an ancient well, some temples, and residential blocks. The artifacts excavated from the ruins are preserved in the Mahasthan Archaeological Museum. After visiting the museum, you can go boating on the Karatoya River near the archaeological ruins. Floating along the river, you can see a beautiful view of the city and the surrounding villages. If you are interested in Hinduism, then the Shiva temple is there for you. After that, you can buy traditional handicrafts and souvenirs at the local market.
