What to Wear

Bangladesh February Clothes
You can wear short sleeves and shorts or loose light pants to cope with the weather. Since most Bengalis follow Islam, it is acceptable to wear mid-length or long dresses for girls, but it is best not to wear suspenders, short skirts, or hot pants. It is also important to note that if you are going to visit a religious building during your trip, then make sure you wear long pants on the day, or you will not be allowed to enter.

2. Kuakata

In February, the UV intensity in Bangladesh is around 6. If you don't want to expose in the sun but still want to enjoy the beautiful sunny days, then you can go wandering in the lush forests. You can head to Gangamati Reserved Forest, a grove of evergreen mangroves in Kuakata. The exposed roots, sandy ground, and the distant coast create a picturesque scene. If you are lucky, you can also find spotted deer, monkeys, wild boars, and birds in the forest. Gangamati is located on the east side of Kuakata Beach, which is pretty close. You can ride a bicycle from Gangamati to Kuakata beach, and along the way, you can see many fishing boats with flags docked at the sea. Reaching the beach before sunset is advisable as you would want to experience the stunning sunset. As the sun sinks, the area where the sea meets the sky turns crimson, easy to take spectacular photos.

3. Pohela Falgun

Every year, the Bengali hold Pohela Falgun in the eleventh month of the Hindu calendar, to celebrate the arrival of spring. Pohela Falgun falls on February 13th, 2024. To experience the most traditional customs of the festival, Ramna, the heart of Dhaka, is the best place to go. During this festival, artists from Chayanat and Shishu Academy perform traditional music and dance here. Girls wear yellow dresses and jewelry made of flowers, and people decorate their houses in yellow and red and get together to paint faces in colors to bless each other.

Coming to Dhaka, you should not miss Ramna Park, one of the most popular parks in the city. Known as the Green Heaven of Dhaka, it is a beautiful place with lush green lawns, dense trees, and gorgeous flower beds. You can take a stroll in the park or have a picnic by the lake where you can have a very relaxing time. Apart from its beautiful surroundings, Ramna Park hosts concerts and art exhibitions occasionally, and traditional festivals like Pohela Falgun are often organized here. If you are planning a trip to Dhaka, you can keep an eye on the appropriate event timings to experience the traditional culture and art of Bengal.

Dhaka has many other places besides Ramna Park, like Ahsan Mansil, the official residential palace constructed in the Indo-Saracenic Revival style; Lalbagh Fort, an incomplete Mughal fort complex built in the 17th century. Moreover, Bahadur Shah Park and Gurdwara Nank Shahi are popular tourist attractions.
