Though stepping into autumn, Hiroshima is still a little hot in the first half of September, when the highest temperature is usually above 30°C (86°F). Then, in general, the temperature drops to a warm level in the second half, and it may even be a little cold in the morning and at night. But the weather can be different one year from another. For instance, in 2023, the weather was hotter than normal, and the highest temperature was above 30°C (86°F) on most days of the whole month. So you’d better check the weather forecast to confirm the real-time climate before you go to Hiroshima in September 2024. Besides, the daytime becomes short, so you need to arrange your daytime activities properly. In terms of rainfall, it is at a relatively moderate level, and you don’t need to worry that it will influence your trip a lot.

September is one of the best months to travel to Hiroshima. However, you should note that September 14-16 is a public holiday in Japan, when the traffic is crowded and the hotels and airplanes are expensive and difficult to book, so you are advised to make bookings in advance to avoid disruption to your travel plans.
