Plant-wise, there are more than 1,000 endemic plants, including the rare baobabs. Moreover, the largest baobab tree in Ifaty stands here, which is more than 1,600 years old and has a circumference of more than 10 meters (33 feet). Animal-wise, what may attract you most are various unique and rare beautiful birds: the Madagascar buttonquail, the white-headed vanga, and the Madagascar harrier-hawk for example. 3. Nearby Fishing Villages

Besides enjoying the natural scenery and looking for wildlife, it is also interesting to explore the local fishing villages and learn the daily life of the local fishermen. The Vezo people, who are good at fishing, live in these fishing villages. Every day, the men go out to catch fish and return with their catches in the afternoon.
