Day 1: Arrival in Bucharest, Airport Pick-up
Welcome to Bucharest, the capital of Romania! When your flight arrives, you will meet our driver guide at the airport. After a warm greeting, you will be sent to the hotel for a break. If you would like to wander around in Bucharest, the driver guide will be glad to accompany you to look around the Old Town area after check-in.

Day 2: Transfagarasan road experience, Sibiu walking tour
On the 2nd day of this Romania 10 days tour, we will go to Sibiu, and the first stop on the way will be Curtea de Arges Monastery. After, we will drive to the base of Vidraru Dam, and then enjoy a 20-minute hiking to the towering Poienari Fortress. Later, going through the scenic Transfagarasan road - the second highest alpine road in Romania, we will arrive in Sibiu. After arrival, we will start our 1.5-hour walking tour in this historical city, to witness the unique local houses with "eyes", and get the full view of the old town on Council Tower. Stay one night in Sibiu.

NOTE: The opening season of Transfagarasan road is from July to October every year. When the Transfagarasan road is closed, we will change our way to Sibiu, visiting the Cozia Monastery midway.

Day 3: Corvin Castle & Turda Salt Mine discovery, Arrival in Cluj Napoca
After breakfast, go on to visit the famous Corvin Castle and Alba Iulia Citadel. Back to 2,000 years ago, Dacian, the ancestors of Romanian, built their castle in Alba Iulia to defend against foreign aggressions. Then, we will pay a visit to Turda Salt Mine, a cool underground wonder worldwide. Finally, the driver guide will show you around the square in Cluj Napoca, to learn the local architectural culture. We will stay overnight in Cluj Napoca.

Day 4: Surdesti wooden church exploration, Arrival in Breb
Maramures, in the north of Romania, has rich folk culture and old wooden churches with steeples. On the 4th day of this itinerary, we will go there to discover the Surdesti wooden church, a UNESCO world heritage. After that, we will go to Breb, and check in at the old-timey wooden house. Having a break, we will go on a 20-minute mountain hiking, to visit a local herdsman, spend some happy time as well as enjoy supper. Or, we can walk for an hour in the village of Breb, and have dinner with the villagers.

Day 5: Merry Cemetery & Barsana Monastery discovery, Arrival in Viseu de Sus
In this morning, we will visit the market in Sighetu Marmatiei and the Merry Cemetery in Sapanta. Merry Cemetery is a special graveyard in Romania, with colorful images about the dead painted on the tombs. Afterwards, the driver guide will lead you to see Maramures' fine wooden handicrafts and Barsana Monastery. Lastly we will reach Viseu de Sus for an overnight stay.

Day 6: A taste of Steam Train "Mocanita", Arrival in Gura Humorului
At around 9:00 am, we will start our Steam Train "Mocanita" experience. Via the narrow and long track, the train shuttles in the forest, just like an elf. Getting off the train, we will head to Gura Humorului of Bucovina region, where we are to spend overnight. On the way, we will stop over in Ciocanesti to admire the traditional decorative patterns painted on the walls, exclusive for each family. The eggshell painting is also a specialty at local.

Day 7: Taste Bucovina Painted Monasteries, Sighisoara walking tour
During today's itinerary, we are going to explore Voronet and Humor Painted Monasteries in Bucovina, and the Egg Museum Vama. Both monasteries are UNESCO world heritages, and Egg Museum Vama collects over 11,000 painted eggs from all over the world, including eggs in all sizes from various animals. We will also visit an egg painting workshop. After that, drive for 4.5h to Sighisoara, and take an 1h walking tour here. Sighisoara is the most romantic town in Romania, as well as a world cultural heritage site. You can see its highlights including the Medieval Citadel, Tailor's Bastion, the Dominican Monastery and the Clock Tower. Stay overnight in Sighisoara.

Day 8: Viscri & Bran Castle sightseeing trip, Arrival in Brasov
Today, we will go to the Saxon village of Viscri firstly, to meet the Gypsy blacksmith and take a horse-cart to see the local slow-paced life. Next, we will go to visit Bran Castle constructed in 1377, which is known for the famous novel "Dracula". The last destination today is Brasov. On the way from Bran to Brasov, we will make a stopover on the mountain top, to see the panorama of Brasov. On arrival, the driverguide will escort you to stroll around the Council Square, and see the night views in the city.

Accommodation: Grand Hotel Belvedere (4 stars)

Day 9: Bear Sanctuary & Peles Castle exploration, Arrival in Bucharest
After breakfast, we will visit Black Church, a landmark in Brasov, at first. Then drive to the Bear Sanctuary in Zarnesti, to have a 1h hiking with an expert guide to see the brown bears. After, we will go to visit Rasnov Fortress and the former royal residence Peles Castle successively. At last, get to the hotel in Bucharest by a 2-hour drive.

NOTE: Peles Castle is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays from November to next March every year; while the courtyard is open all year around.

Day 10: Bucharest sightseeing, Airport see-off
The day begins with an-hour visit in the Palace of Parliament. After, we will take a walk around the Village Museum. At last , the driver guide will send you to the airport for your onward flight. See you next time!
