What to Bring

Clothes: Long-sleeved and quick-dry outfits can not only function as a physical barrier to mosquitos in the park but also make you comfortable with their breathable properties. For shoes, non-slippery and water-proof sneakers are suitable for a hike in the rainforest.

Accessories: Rain gear is requisite for visiting Ranomafana in its rainy season, and a raincoat is better than an umbrella because it’s more convenient. Besides, a mosquito repellent or other insecticides help to reduce bites in the humid environment.

Travel Tip

The high rainfall makes roads in dense tropical rainforests slippery and muddy, and fog before the rain causes poor visibility. So it is not suggested to visit Ranomafana in its rainy season.
