The warm and dry weather in this season makes it perfect to hike in the Kirindy Forest where enormous varieties of Madagascan endemic animals including lemurs and fossas live. Mouse lemurs, sikafa lemurs, sportive lemurs and many others await you to find. Fossa is the largest mammalian predator in Madagascar, and it has a long tail and a cat-like appearance.

2. Admire Unique Baobabs
Three species of baobabs grow in the Kirindy Forest and include the largest Grandidier's baobab and the smallest fony baobab in the country. The Grandidier's baobab can be about 30 meters (98 feet) the highest while the fony baobab usually has a height of 4 to 5 meters (13 to 16 feet).

The weather at night in the dry season is barely cold, suitable for a night walk in the forest. During your night safari, chameleons and nocturnal lemurs with cute appearances and vigorous behaviors are highlights.

1. It’s advisable to take your tour with a guide who is familiar with endemic animals in Kirindy and good at imitating their calls to attract them.
