Paris and French Riviera

Welcome to Paris to join our 10-day French Riviera tour. Our driver will meet you at the airport and then escort you to the hotel. You may enjoy the rest of the day as you please.

According to the agreed time, our tour guide will meet you at the hotel lobby for today's Paris walking tour. First, we will come to the Rue Mouffetard in the Latin Quarter, which is located on the left bank of the Seine River. Rue Mouffetard retains the architectural style of the 16th - 19th centuries, being a good place to recollect Paris' old times. In addition, the macaron shops all over give you the opportunity to try authentic French desserts. After, via the Luxembourg Gardens and school campus, we will reach the Ile de la Cite, where we will visit the most famous Gothic cathedral worldwide – Notre Dame.

In the afternoon, go to the Louvre Museum and use skip-the-line tickets to explore it. Louvre Museum is known for a generous collection of classical paintings and sculptures, and the Venus de Milo, Mona Lisa and the Winged Victory of Samothrace are considered the best. Also, it is worth taking photos of the glass pyramid at the museum entrance.

Today our first stop is the Place de la Concorde. After knowing its history behind, the guide will accompany you to walk through the Tuileries Gardens and appreciate impressionist paintings at the nearby Musée de l'Orangerie. Then, we will pay a visit to the Grand Palais, one of the landmarks of Paris for the stunning glass-domed roof. Next, you will be guided to the Pont Alexander III. This beautiful bridge links many attractions in downtown, including the Avenue des Champs-Elysées, Grand & Petit Palais and the Hotel des Invalides. After that, we will walk to the Place de Trocadero, where you can enjoy a distant view of Eiffel Tower. After a peaceful boat ride on the Seine River, you will be led back to the hotel.

After breakfast, our driver guide will escort you to the Chateau de Versailles. Since this royal palace is very large, we will focus on several most legendary sites inside. In the morning, we will see the Great Royal Apartments, the Hall of Mirrors and the Queens Apartments. Then, you will be given some free time to explore the gardens of Versailles. In the afternoon, we will pay a visit to the Grand & Petit Trianon and Marie Antoinette's estate. Get back to hotel after the visit.

Today you can explore Paris at your own pace. We recommend you to walk around the Montmartre area known for artistic atmosphere. During the sightseeing, you may find the streetscape that once inspired Van Gogh and Pablo Picasso to paint, visit the Basilique du Sacré-Cœur of Byzantine style, or ask an artist at the Place du Tertre for an original portrait. In the end, you could top off today's tour by watching cancan dance at Moulin Rouge.

After breakfast, please check out the hotel and get to the train station by yourself and take the southbound train to Cannes. You will arrive in this coastal city in five hours and our local driver will pick you and transfer you to the downtown hotel. For the rest of the day, you can get some rest to boost energy for tomorrow's trip.

After breakfast, our local tour guide will join you for the following three-hour walking tour, during which you can feast your eyes on traditional harbors and buildings at Le Suquet (Old Town). Besides, since this city is famous for the Cannes Film Festival, it is very worthwhile to have a look at the venue, Palais des Festivals et des Congrès, and walk along the Boulevard de la Croisette. That's all for today's itinerary and you can relax at the hotel afterwards.

However, if you want to make full use of your free time, Saint Marguerite Island is highly recommended. Man in the Iron Mask was filmed at this tranquil island and it will be a delight to roam around.

In the morning you need to take the train bound for Nice all by yourself. 30min later, a local guide will greet you at the station. Then, it's time to see the ancient Greek and Roman remains, the castles of the 20th century and exotic souvenirs shops and cafes. Nevertheless, it is the stunning sea view that makes Nice a must during our French vacation, and you will not fully get it until you stand on the Castle Hill overlooking the coastline. To better enjoy Mediterranean scenery and sandy beach, we will stroll along the Promenade des Anglais to reach La Baie des Anges. Then, we will drop by the magnificent hotel Negresco. After that, please return to the hotel in Cannes by the way you came by yourself.

After breakfast, please take the one-hour train to Monaco on your own. A local guide will meet you at the train station and show you around this tiny principality encircled by France and the Mediterranean Sea. During the four-hour walking tour, we are going to see the Cathedral of Monaco and the outside of Prince's Palace. Next, we will pay a visit to the State Apartments Museum. Many rooms inside are very interesting, including the Mirror Room, the Throne Room, the Red Room, the York Room, the Blue Room, the Louis XV bedroom (Yellow Room) and the Officers Room.

Next, we will head for the Monte-Carlo district. Monte-Carlo Casino, the oldest as well as the fanciest casino across Europe, is a must. Then, we will visit the Opera House designed by Charles Garnier, also the designer of Paris Opera House. After that, please travel back to Cannes by train on your own.
