North Cyprus vs. South Cyprus: Which is the best to visit? Which airport should I fly into?
In the 1970s, the island of Cyprus was divided into two parts. South Cyprus is highly recommended due to its larger size, stronger economy, and abundance of historical monuments, while North Cyprus retains unspoiled natural beauty. If you have more than 6 days, of course, explore both! The Green Line Regulation was implemented to maintain peace between the two sides. Except for EU and UK citizens, who can travel through the country regardless of arrival airport, other travelers including Americans and Australians can only cross the Green Line when entering from the south. So please avoid landing at Ercan Airport in the north, since it may cause inconvenience when you enter the south part later. Paphos and Larnaca Airports are both suitable, and Larnaca Airport is more recommended due to its shorter transfer times to most hotels.
