What to Wear
It is recommended to wear cool summer clothes made of cotton and linen when traveling to Cambodia in November, 2025. During the daytime, short shirt, blouse, shorts, skirt and dress are comfortable to put on. At the same time, the large temperature difference makes long-sleeve T-shirt, thin outerwear and trousers necessity at night. Because the road in Cambodia is dusty, casual shoes are the best choice. Tourists could also bring a pair of sneakers or hiking shoes when climbing. But women should better not wear high-heeled shoes. As Cambodia's capital, Phnom Penh can be the first stop of the trip. Phnom Penh is centered on the royal palace and Polemolo Cott Pagoda. The eastern imperial city includes buildings such as the Royal Palace, the Royal Museum, the Royal Garden and the National Museum. Royal Palace is one of the representative buildings in Phnom Penh, including more than 20 palaces of various sizes. Visiting Royal Palace, tourists must wear jackets with shirt with sleeves, trousers or skirts should be longer than knees. People have to take off hat and shoes to get in.
People could also go to Tonlé Sap to experience traditional Bon Om Touk. As Cambodia's most important traditional festival, Bon Om Touk is usually held from October to November each year. In 2025, the festival will be held from 4th to 6th in November. It marks the end of the rainy season and the arrival of the fishing season. During the festival, lights decorated around the Royal Palace and along the Mekong River. Dragon boat races will also be held in Mekong River and Tonlé Sap Lake, and lantern boat parades and moon worship ceremonies will be held in the evening.
