Whether you prefer the comfort of a taxi or the efficiency of the MRT (Mass Rapid Transit) trains, Singapore’s convenient transport will impress you. A Grab taxi to your hotel takes approximately 20 minutes and costs SGD 20 to 30 (USD 15 to 23). If you’d like to try the MRT, it takes an hour and costs only SGD 2 (USD 1.5) per person - take the East West Line from the airport to Bugis, with a transfer (on the same line) at Tanah Merah Station, and walk walk 7 minutes southwest to the hotel. The National Museum of Singapore is also a good choice, just a 10-minute walk from the hotel. You may also consider staying a little longer at Changi Airport to experience this unique aviation hub that blends transportation with entertainment and shopping. Take the small train between Terminal 2 and Terminal 3 to appreciate the world’s tallest indoor waterfall, the Rain Vortex, and if you arrive at night, you can catch an unforgettable spectacle of light show (20:00 and 21:00 daily; one more at 22:00 from Friday to Sunday and on public holidays).

You can also savor Teh Tarik, Singapore’s favorite Indian hot drink, made with black tea and evaporated milk. There is also a wide selection of coffee and iced beverages. Try Air Katira if you like, a refreshing cold drink made with milk, sugar, brasil seeds, grassjelly, and malva nuts.

Next, let’s immerse in the exotic atmosphere of Little India. Be exhilarated by the kaleidoscope of colors adorning the houses, tantalized by the intoxicating spices, and dazzled by the intricate Indian handicrafts. Visit the Sri Veeramakaliamman Temple and if you are lucky, witness the puja ceremony around 17:00, which offers a glimpse into the piety and spiritual traditions of the Hindus.

In the afternoon, please plan ahead according to the ferry time and make your own way to the pier. From the hotel to Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal, it takes 22 minutes by taxi and costs approximately SGD 25 to 35 (USD 18 to 25), while one hour by bus – walk from the hotel to Bugis Station, take the MRT East West Line (14 minutes, 7 stops) to Bedok and transfer to bus no. 35 (24 minutes, 8 stops) to the pier. Here, take a 1 hour ferryboat to Bintan Island (tickets reserved and included). Upon arrival, hire a taxi to reach your hotel in 15 minutes. Recommended Activities:
A day tour by chartered car is recommended. In the morning, encounter elephants and giant lizards at the wildlife park Safari Lagoi Bintan, and then head to the Sand Dunes and Blue Lakes. Witness an enchanting landscape where the windswept dunes of an abandoned mine meet the crystal-clear, blue-green lakes. Capture instagramable photos amidst the stunning sight with a raw visual impact. Continue your journey to the 500 Lohan Temple or Banyan Tree Temple to learn about Bintan’s religious and cultural heritage. At noon, consider having lunch in downtown Tanjung Penang. Then head to the pier for a 10-minute ferry ride to the Penyengat Island. It was once the seat of power in the last stages of the Malay Kingdom. Check out the jewel of the historic island, the Grand Mosque of the Sultan of Riau, with a striking royal yellow facade. Venture further depending on your time and interest to explore the palace ruins, royal mausoleums, and other remnants of the Riau-Lingga Sultanate era, offering a glimpse into Malay culture and history. Take the ferry back to Tanjung Penang Pier, and in the late afternoon, explore the fascinating mangroves. Go kayaking through the tranquil channels and spot diverse tropical animals along the shore. ► How to Get to Singapore Changi Airport (for your reference):
Once you disembark from the Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal in Singapore, hire a Grab taxi to the airport, taking less than 10 minutes for around SGD 10 (USD 7.5). While available, public transport (bus or MRT) is not recommended, as it involves a transfer and detour, and takes nearly an hour to get to the airport.
