Peru 2 Weeks Tour

After taking the flight to Lima Jorge Chavez International Airport (LIM), you will meet our English-speaking guide holding a sign at the arrival hall. Then the guide and the driver will transfer you to the hotel after a warm greeting. The rest time of the day is your free time. If interested, you can head to the Miraflores Boardwalk to appreciate the seaside scenery on your own.

After breakfast, our Peru itinerary 2 weeks will start with the old district of Lima. The fascinating historical architectures are dotted here and there. First, we will have a photo stop at San Martin Plaza. Then proceed to main square Plaza de Armas to see the magnificent buildings from Spanish colonial era, including Cathedral of Lima, Casa Aliaga, and Monastery of San Francisco. Finally, we will tour Larco Museum which collects relatively complete pre-Hispanic gold and silver handmade articles.

In the morning, transfer you to the airport for the flight to the second largest city of Peru – Arequipa. Upon arrival, you will be met and led to the hotel by the guide and the driver. After a short break, we will wander in the Plaza de Armas and tour Santa Catalina Monastery to learn the life of maidens in the Spanish colonial period.

After about 3 hours' drive, we will get to Chivay village 162 kilometers (101 miles) away. On the way, we will pass by Chachani Volcano and Chucura Volcano. It is also possible to encounter vicunas and alpacas. Also, we will make a stopover at the volcano viewpoint to overlook the scenery of the crater. After arrival, the guide will assist you to check in the hotel and then you can stroll in this traditional village at a leisurely pace.

We are going to explore the world's second deepest canyon, Colca Canyon after breakfast. Standing at the viewpoint, you may see the condors flying in the valleys which are regarded as the Kings of the Andes. Then we will tour the villages in the valley including Pinchollo, Maca and Yanque. Around noon, drive back to Chivay. The lunch will be dealt by yourself, and the guide will be glad to recommend you some nice restaurants. After lunch, head to Puno on the shore of Lake Titicaca by 6 hours' drive. The driver will stop at some beautiful places along the way for you so that you can take photos. After getting there, check in the hotel and have a rest. Lake Titicaca is the largest freshwater lake in South America.

The guide and the driver will pick you up at the hotel at the appointed time and lead you to the wharf. We will take the motorboat there to the first stop of today's Peru itinerary 2 weeks - Uros Islands. It is well known because of the floating islands built with reeds which is like a waterbed. Then take 3 hours' boat ride to Taquile Island where a family visit with a simple lunch is arranged. After today's tour, send you back to the hotel.

Today, you will enjoy a 10-hour shared bus tour to Cusco 386 kilometers (240 miles) away. The first stop is Pucara. The guide on the bus will lead you to visit a small museum where displays the local archaeological discoveries. Then take the bus to La Raya to overlook the snow mountain. In the cafeteria in Sicuani Town, we will enjoy a lunch. Afterwards, continue the journey to Inca Temple in Raqchi. It is built to memorize the creator in Inca God Wiracocha. Finally, we will stopover at Andahuaylillas. The San Pedro Chapel there has integrated the cultural features of Catholicism and Andean religion.

After getting to Cusco, you will be picked up and transferred to the hotel by our local guide and the driver.

First, wander in the main square Plaza de Armas to have an exterior visit of Cathedral of Cusco. Then go through the Inca streets to visit Qorikancha (the Temple of Sun). In the afternoon, we will take the car to Sacsayhuaman. It is regarded as the largest and most spectacular Inca sites except Machu Picchu. Next go hiking to the Temple of the Moon. In the end, we will visit another Inca site Tambomachay.

During today's Peru 2 weeks tour, we will explore Sacred Valley. The first stop is Chinchero. There are Inca Walls and Colonial Church. We will also learn the knitting methods from the artisans in a textile center which are inherited from the forefathers. Next, take the car to cross the winding hills and get off at Moray where has the circular terrace built against the mountain by the ancient Inca. In Maras Salt Mines, we will overlook the more than 3,000 saltpans. Then, continue the trip to Ollantaytambo.

After having the lunch, you will be sent to the train station for the 1.5 hours' train to Aguas Calientes – the town of Machu Picchu. Along the way, you can appreciate the scenery. Upon arrival, the hotel staff will greet you at the exit and lead you to the hotel near the station on foot.

The guide will meet you at the hotel on time and then accompany you to walk to the nearby bus station. Machu Picchu, one of the seven wonders in the world, will be reached by 30 minutes' bus ride. In the following two hours, the guide will explain its history for you while visiting Machu Picchu. After the tour, we will go back to Aguas Calientes by bus. After recommending you some restaurants, the guide will say goodbye.

In the afternoon, you need to go to the train station and take the train back to Ollantaytambo by yourself. When you arrive, our guide and the driver will pick you up and transfer you to the hotel near Urubamba village after 30 minutes' drive.

After breakfast, we will drive 50 minutes' to Pisac which is 36 kilometers (22 miles) away. There, we are going to visit Pisac Archaeological Park, where you will have chance to overlook the mountain scenery of Sacred Valley. Then go to a local market in the town where sells some handicrafts and native products. In the afternoon, we will drive back to Cusco with a stopover at Awanacancha, where you can see the unique camels in Andes Mountain like alpaca, llama and guanaco and appreciate the traditional weaving and dyeing process.

After picking you up at the hotel, the driver will transfer you to the airport for the morning flight to Puerto Maldonado. The flight time is about 1 hour and 40 minutes. Upon arrival, the driver there will pick you up and escort you to the wharf to meet the professional jungle guide. Then the guide will accompany you to take a 45 minutes' boat ride to the lodge and enjoy a lunch there. In the afternoon, follow the guide to hike in the Amazon Jungle and explore the natural scenery. It is also possible to see the toucans and macaws flying in the forests. Then we will go back to the lodge for a rest. Before dinner, we will go out again to search the caimans lying by the river.

Today's Peru 2 weeks tour will start in the early morning. First, we will travel to Parrot Clay-lick on foot to see the marvelous scene of parrots foraging on the Clay. Then go back to the lodge and have a breakfast. Afterwards, you can enjoy some free time to stroll around the garden in the lodge to take some pictures. Then the guide will lead you to take the boat along Madre de Dios River to Tambopata National Reserve to explore the jungle deeply and search the wildlife. Then continue sailing to Sandoval Lake and appreciate various birds and monkeys such as Hoatzins, Cormorants, Squirrel monkeys, and Capuchin monkeys. Finally, appreciate the sunset and return to the lodge. On the way, we may also see the nocturnal animals.

Today, take the ship back to Puerto Maldonado. Then the driver will escort you to the airport according to your flight schedule and see you off. Wish you a pleasant trip home!
