Day 1: Arrival in Malta, Airport Pick-up
Welcome to Malta! When you arrive at Malta International Airport, your private driver will pick you up and send you to the hotel in St. Julian’s, a town in eastern Malta, in 20 minutes’ drive. The rest of the day is free for you to wander around or relax in the hotel room.

You may consider walking south by yourself for 5 minutes from the hotel to the Spinola Bay. This charming place is peaceful yet vibrant, with colorful traditional Maltese boats swaying with sea breeze in the water. Take a stroll along the promenade, and take some photos in front of the LOVE monument. Sit on a bench by the sea, watch a sunset and immerse yourself in the romantic Mediterranean vibe.

Dinner Recommendation (at your own expense)
A variety of restaurants and bars surround the Spinola Bay. Gululu St. Julian’s is an authentic Maltese restaurant facing the sea, where you could have a taste of Mqarrun, a kind of baked pasta, as well as the Maltese rabbit pasta. The terrace on the upper floor offers extraordinary sea view for you to enjoy your food while overlooking the bay. The average cost of the restaurant is about EUR 25.

Tips on Money Exchange in Malta
The euro is the official currency of Malta. It is convenient to exchange currency throughout the country, so you don’t need to exchange for a lot of cash at the airport. We recommend that you withdraw euros from an ATM (there may be extra charges). In addition, Fexserv Financial Services Ltd (Alpine House Triq In-Naxxar San Gwann, SGN 9032), 200 meters away from your hotel, offers more affordable currency exchange services. In most stores and restaurants, VISA and MasterCard credit cards are widely accepted. You could carry some cash for small purchases.

 SIM Card
If you are from Europe, you could check if your mobile phone provider offers Malta coverage or supports services here. If so, you don’t need to buy a new SIM card. If you want to purchase a SIM card, choose GO Malta at a mobile provider store or a convenience store for more prepaid options, such as 10 GB of data for EUR 9.99 and 12 GB of data for EUR 15.99, valid for 30 days. It is not recommended to purchase one at the airport.
