Built in the early 20th century, the Station is next to the coastline of Shichirihama, and passengers can appreciate the sea view right on the platform. In addition, the sidewalks built along the sea and Shichirihama Beach are suitable for relaxation. Last, don’t forget to take photos before the gate of Kamakura High School – the prototype of the famous school in the anime.

Where to Shoot Similar Scenes with Slam Dunk

1. Before the Traffic Lights

This is the most popular shooting position among visitors. The 134 National Highway and the rampway, which leads to Kamakura High School, intersect here. The main character in Slam Dunk, Sakuragi Hanamichi, once showed up before the traffic lights. It may take some time if you want to take photos with the green train running past behind you.

Given your safety and too many other tourists, you can also choose another similar intersection nearby where there are much fewer tourists. You can arrive at another intersection this way: first walk past the famous intersection, face the sea, turn left, and walk for 5 minutes. As this intersection is comparatively narrow, it is easier to take a photo of the panorama.

2. Shichirihama Beach

Shichirihama Beach also appears in the anime many times. The Beach is located between Kamakurakoko-Mae Station and Shichirigahama Station. The extensive Beach enables you to overlook Enoshima Island and Ōshima Island, and even Mount Fuji further. To pay tribute to Slam Dunk, you can take a photo running on the beach or standing quietly while looking in the distance, just as the anime’s main character did.

3. The 134 National Highway

This is another typical scene in the anime. Rukawa Kaede, another main character in Slam Dunk, once rode his bicycle along the Highway, stopped by the railing, and then stared at the sea. The zebra crossing connecting the pedestrian way is suitable for taking photos, but watch out for the vehicles coming and going. In addition to taking photos, the pedestrian way along the Highway is a good place to take a walk or appreciate the seascape. Sometimes, you can also see people go sailing or surfing on the sea.
