Free of charge for children under 6. But they should share a seat with an adult holding a Japan Rail Pass.
It can only be used in Ordinary Class cars. Usage of Green Class or Gran Class cars requires an additional fee.
1. The information of your name on the passport and your gender is needed for reservation.
2. Only the E-ticket can be purchased online. Then, you need to change the ticket into an actual Japan East Rail Pass (Nagno, Niigata area) at exchange offices which are located in JR stations after your arrival in Japan.
3. The E-ticket must be changed into JR East Pass (Nagno, Niigata area) within 3 months of booking.
