Goa starts receiving a large number of tourists from October with almost the end of Monsoon, and it continues till January. This is the best time to visit Goa. During this season, one can find both domestic and international travellers. With an average temperature ranging between 28°C to 30°C (82.4℃ to 86℉), the pleasant weather makes the city densely crowded by local tourists. There are lot of advantages to travel Goa in October, one of the best months to visit Goa, like with bare blessings of showers; there will be greenery everywhere; one can enjoy the reopen of beach shacks; and cyclist can explore the city on dry roads. Though this period is the best time to visit Goa, some of the disadvantages are heavy local crowds in all the major sightseeing and historical sites; traffic jam can occur in cities; restaurants can be of long waiting hours.
Summer season starts from mid of February till May is considered as a slack season with the temperature up to 31℃ (87.8℉). The scorching and humid climate make it hard to be the best season to travel Goa. There are certain perks of travelling in this season as city travelling fares can be cheaper, easy access to all the significant points of visits without much disturbance, no waiting hour in pubs and restaurants, no traffic jams in the city, relaxing environment on beaches. As there are the advantages of traveling to Goa during summer, they have disadvantages too, like sweltering and humid climate not recommended to tourists who cannot tolerate heat. There is no proper shade stands in most of the popular tourist spots, which make sightseeing more intolerable, though one may find many stalls for the live-saving ice candies, juices, coconut water, and other icy things that can suppress thirst for some time.
Usually, Goa is open in all the season depending on the likeness of tourists. Festivals like Diwali (either in October or November depending on the Hindu calendar), St Xavier feast (2nd December) Old Goa, Christmas 25th December is advisable to avoid due to heavy traffic in the cities and long waiting queues in visiting heritage monuments and restaurants.
