Delhi Weather in January

Delhi Weather in January is warm, but the temperature varies widely from day to night. The average temperature is 14°C (57.2°F) and most of the time is sunny days. It is one of the best months to visit New Delhi.

The Republic Day is celebrated on Jan. 26th. During this period, there will be a grand parade and celebrations on the National Avenue between the Presidential Palace and the India Gate. But you should set off early for the activities due to the busy transportation on that day.

Things to Do in Delhi in January

1. Watch the Republic Day Parade Celebration in 2026

The parade is usually held in Rajpath, the center of New Delhi. The entire parade consists of two parts: the military parade and the cultural performance. It lasts more than two hours and fully demonstrates the modern Indian national power and colorful nationalities. In 2026, the Celebration will be held on January 26th.

2. Visit Delhi Palace

The entire building is octagonal with 5 gates, and the wall on the river side is 30 meters (98feet) high. It is very majestic and magnificent and attracts millions of people here.

3. Visit Na raya Temple

Na raya temple is decorated in red and yellow which represents love, knowledge, wealth, and blessings. Pay attention that when you enter the temple, you must take off your shoes and socks.
