Costa Rica Vacation with Canopy Tour

After getting off the plane and clearing customs, you will meet our local driver waiting for you at the arrival hall of Juan Santamaría International Airport. Then he will transfer you to the hotel. The rest time is spent at leisure for you to have a rest to recover energy for our following Costa Rica guided tours or explore the scenic spots in downtown area on your own, such as Parque La Sabana Garden and San Jose Central Market.

Accommodation: Holiday Inn San Jose Aurola (4 stars)

After breakfast in the hotel, the driver will pick you up and drive 1.5 hours eastward to go through Braulio Carrillo National Park and reach Guapiles region. The shared bus of the lodge will pick up you to drive around 1.5 hours and then take a boat around 1.5 hours to arrive at Tortuguero on the Caribbean coast. The whole journey is 135 kilometers (84 miles). After lunch, follow the guide to visit the Tortuguero town and Sea Turtle Museum in group.

In the morning, we will take boat tour along the canal in Tortuguero National Park. We may see monkeys, herons, egrets, toucans and other wild animals. Tortuguero channels is the best way for tourists to visit the park. In the afternoon, follow the guide to hike in the jungle and enjoy a relaxing hike. The park is also an important green sea turtle breeding base. If in July to October, it is the nesting months, you have chance to see the green turtle nesting and laying eggs in the evening (the charge is arranged on your own).

Today our tours will proceed to La Fortuna where we will visit one of the world's most active volcanos - Arenal Volcano. You will take a boat and then bus to Guapiles region first. Your private driver will pick up you and transfer to La Fortuna in 2 hours. The whole journey is 210 kilometers (130 miles). After checking in the hotel, you can arrange the rest time as you like.

In the morning, follow the guide to go through the pathway for a Hanging Bridge tour in Mistico Arenal Hanging Bridge Park, we will look for varieties of wild animals and plants. In the afternoon, we will head to Arenal Volcano National Park, we will first tour the Arenal Volcano at an altitude of 1,633 meters (5,357 feet), it is the most well-known active volcano in Costa Rica. The lava flows consistently for years. Afterwards, Arenal Lake and La Fortuna Waterfall will be visited. At night, you can enjoy a comfortable bath in Tabacon Hot Spring.

In the morning, you will follow the guide to take a Don Juan Coffee and Chocolate Tour to learn the working process of coffee and chocolate, and you will have a taste. After that, you will set out by jeep-boat-jeep with driver to Monteverde which is 60 kilometers (37 miles) away. First, drive to harbor in Arenal Lake and take a boat to the port on the opposite in 45 minutes. And then we will transfer to a car to Monteverde for check in. During the 2.5-hour journey, you can appreciate the tropical scenery along the way.

In the morning, you will be led to experience a hiking tour to appreciate the fascinating scenery of Cloud Forest for around 2 to 3 hours. In the afternoon, you will join in a group Hanging Bridges tour in Monteverde Sky Adventures Park, try to find the wild animals like sloths and monkeys in the forests. In the evening, the guide will accompany you to take a night tour to look for the nocturnal animals.

After breakfast, we will transfer to Manuel Antonio in Quepos with driver. The trip is 190 kilometers (118 miles) and takes about 4 hours. In midway, we will have a Crocodile Shared Boat Tour Adventure Connection at Tarcoles River to see the performance of small crocodiles. After reaching Manuel Antonio, check in the hotel and have a rest.

Today we will travel at Manuel Antonio National Park by foot. It is the smallest but the most spectacular garden in Costa Rica which was built in 1972 to protect the diversity of creatures in the area. So in the journey, you may see the sloths, iguanas, squirrel monkeys, etc. After lunch, you can arrange the following time according to your interest, such as spending a relaxing time on the beach.

The morning is arranged on your own to relax on the beach. In the late afternoon, the driver will drive back to San Jose which is 160 kilometers (100 miles) away and takes about 3 hours.
