Bolivia Highlights Tour

Today, your tour will start with an exploration of the La Paz City. First, we will drive to the main square to visit the government palace, the National Congress, and the Basilica de San Francisco which is a spectacular Catholic church located in the city center. This centuries-old church was firstly built even earlier than La Paz city and it combines both the Spanish and local architectural styles. Later, we will continue to Mirador Killi Killi to enjoy a panoramic city view. After that, a visit to the Moon Valley will be scheduled. You will also be accompanied to take the Mi Teleferico (cable car) to overlook the city and snow mountains across the sky. The final stop will be Witches' Market and then you will be transferred back to the hotel.

This morning we will drive to coastal Copacabana town, which will take 3-3.5 hours. On the way, we need to transfer to a motorboat to sail through the Tiquina Strait for 20 minutes. After arrival, continue to take a speed boat for about 1 hour to Isla del Sol. Then disembark and have lunch. In the afternoon, we will head forward to the Pilko Kaina Inca Palace. The complex ruin is said to have been built by the Incan emperor, Tupacinca Yupanqui. With our guide's company, you will also ascend the Escalera del Inca to admire the Inca's Fountain. After the visit,check in at the hotel on the island.

After breakfast, return to Copacabana. Explore the town and see the statue of the Virgin Mary in the Basilica of Our Lady. After strolling around the surrounding church and square, we will finish the Copacabana trip and drive back to the hotel in La Paz.

We will show you the amazing salt flats today. After breakfast, the driver will escort you to La Paz airport for you to fly to Uyuni. The local driver and the guide will wait for you at Uyuni airport. After picking you up, drive 20 minutes to our first stop, Colchani Village. This village is full of souvenir stalls, and you can also learn about the processing methods of salt and visit a salt-made museum displaying various salt sculptures. Here, you will be guided to see the salt flats, and visit an old salt hotel. The last stop will be Isla Incahuasi, at the heart of the salt flats, containing a large group of big cactuses, some of which are even over one hundred years old. Then we will go to check in at a local hotel in 2 hours.

Today we will drive 4 hours to Potosi. This is one of the highest cities in the world at an elevation of 4,050 meters (13,290 ft.). After checking in at the hotel, we will visit Casa Nacional de Moneda, also known as the National Mint. Here you can not only learn about the coin making history but also appreciate Potosi's historical weapons and archaeology.

Today's itinerary will unveil Cerro Rico for you, the mountain near Potosi, only 30 minutes' car ride away. As the main resource of Potosi's industry, large quantities of silver extracted from Cerro Rico had been offered to the then Spanish colonizers, making Potosi once the most prosperous city in Latin America. The mine tour will lead you to learn more about the mining process and experiencing the miners' harsh daily life. Then after a short break in the hotel, we will drive to the "White city", Sucre. It takes about 3 hours.

After breakfast, we will stroll about 5 minutes to the most important architecture of Sucre, House of Liberty Museum, where the independence of Bolivia was declared. You can also see a lot of cultural heritages inside. Keep moving to La Recoleta, an ancient church situated atop a hill, offering an unobstructed city view of Sucre. Afterwards, we will pay a visit to the San Lázaro church, the courtyard of the Universidad Mayor de San Francisco Xavier and the Convent of San Felipe Nery. Tarabuco Market with colorful traditional costumes and fabrics will be our next stop and it takes 1.5 hours to get there by car.

Note: Tarabuco Market tour is only available on every Sunday. At other times, we will visit the Cretaceous Park, a famous dinosaur park accumulating the most dinosaur footprints in the world.

Today, you need to fly to La Paz and the driver will offer you a comfortable Sucre airport drop-off. Upon arrival, you will be picked up by a local driver and a guide. Then you will be transferred to Tiwanaku Ruins, taking about 2 hours. Lunch will also be served here. The ancient ruins consist of palaces, temples and pyramids, which are considered as one of the best places to explore the lost Inca traditions and civilization. After the visit, we will go to the hotel, check in and stay overnight.
