8:00 - 11:30 Drive to Visit Tiananmen Square & Forbidden City
Tiananmen Square is the biggest city square in the world and a famous Chinese historical site. Here the founding ceremony and first military parade of People's Republic of China were held. Strolling on the square, we can see the Monument to the People's Heroes and the Memorial Hall of Chairman Mao in the middle.

Next we will follow our guide to the Forbidden City. It is the largest and most complete wooden palace in the world, and has served 24 emperors in Chinese history. The guide will lead you to the must-see portions and we can learn how the emperors lived and worked through its precious artworks and other indoor furnishings. The Forbidden City also has a comprehensive collection of precious ancient Chinese artworks.

Attention: Since the Forbidden City is usually not open on Mondays, we will arrange for you a visit to the Summer Palace instead of Tiananmen Square & Forbidden City if your travel date happens to meet Monday. It is the largest and best preserved royal garden in China. The Kunming Lake, Longevity Hill, Seventeen-arch Bridge, Long Gallery, Palaces, and Pavilions in the Summer Palace are all worth your exploration here.

11:30 - 13:30 Drive to Mutianyu Great Wall & Free Time for Lunch
Located north of city center, Mutianyu Great Wall is about 65 kilometers (40 miles) from the Forbidden City. It will take around 1.5 hours to get there. We will offer each one of you bottles of water and some Beijing snacks during the trip.

Lunch Advice: Before climbing the wall, our guide will suggest that you buy some fast food for lunch at Subway or Burger King in the nearby business street. There are few appropriate takeout restaurants around the wall and we want to leave you more time to appreciate the wall. Some takeout for a picnic on the wall can be an unforgettable experience.
13:30 - 16:30 Explore Mutianyu Great Wall
Mutianyu Great Wall is currently the longest and most beautiful one among all the sections of the Great Wall. It wriggles up and down like a gigantic dragon along the top of steep mountains and enhances the picturesque landscape year-round. Upon reaching the wall, you can follow the guide to explore its construction history and unique role in fighting against ancient enemies.

Different approaches to go up and down the Great Wall
Hike the whole way: We will reach NO.8 or NO.10 watchtower if we hike from the North Entrance on the Great Wall. If we start walking from the South Entrance, we will arrive at No. 6 or No. 8 watchtower. We need to climb about 500 steps to go to our destination. Normally it will take us around 30 minutes to reach the watchtower.

Or you can choose to enjoy the scenery leisurely in a round-trip cable car. The choice is yours, if you need some help with the tickets purchasing, our guide will always be there to offer help.

In addition of the above options, there is also one for you to choose. You can hike up to experience how hard it was to establish this masterpiece. And when you get tired, you can take a cable car or a luge down the way to rest your legs for minutes and take photos from the above. You can get aboard the cable car at the No. 14 watchtower or take the luge at the No. 6 watchtower.
