Free of charge for children under 6. But they should share a seat with an adult holding a Japan Rail Pass.

Foreign tourists with a temporary visitor visa

One can use it for 3, 5, 7 consecutive days from first use, or any 4 days of 10-day period:
1. For a 3-Day, 5-Day or 7-Day pass, you need to choose a day when you want to start your journey. Then, you can use it for 3, 5 or 7 consecutive days from the starting date.
2. For the Flexible 4-Day pass, you can use it in any 4 of 10 days from the day you purchase or exchange it. For example, if you exchange or purchase it on May 1st, then you can use it on any of the 4 days till May 10th.

It can only be used in Ordinary class. Usage of sleeping car and carpet car requires additional charge.

1. The information of your name on the passport and your gender is needed for reservation.
2. Only the E-ticket can be purchased online. Then, you need to change the ticket into an actual Hokkaido Pass at exchange offices which are located in JR stations after your arrival in Japan.
3. The Exchange Order must be changed into Hokkaido Pass within 3 months of booking

1. The Exchange Order has not been activated and used;
2. Within one year from the date of buying;
3. A minimum of 10% cancellation fee is charged.
